"True world-class," praises SB Nation. "This year's dark horse," proclaims the Daily Mirror. "A delight," raves ESPN.
No, they don't mean this VNorte Reserve Chilean Cabernet. They're talking about the Chile soccer team, everybody's favorite pick for surprise World Cup glory despite being in the same group as the two giants that played in the final four years ago, Spain and the Netherlands.
If Chile does manage to march to glory deep into the tournament, or even win it all, you just might get this intense, aromatic red in time to raise a glass to la Roja. But even if the soccer team doesn't win the World Cup, this Chilean squad is a guaranteed dark horse champion in your cup.

Alto Roble Wines
- Location:
- Santiago, Chile
Our vast vineyards are located at Piedmont in a privileged terroir, which guaranties the quality of our grapes. Out of an overall surface of 1,000 hectares, 500 are planted with various vines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenère, Syrah, Malbec, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Late Harvest. In addition to our own 500 hectares of vineyards, we oversee productions in 500 other hectares of grape-growers' property, whose produce we purchase.
Over the next few years, we plan to broaden our plantations at Piedmont so we can increase our production of Reserve and Premium wines. At Alto Roble, we believe that 90% of the wine-making process is carried out in the grapevine itself. Our vineyards are the essence of our work.
