2009 Roessler Chardonnay, Big Bend Vineyard
The fruit-forward palate opens with stone fruit and expands to embrace hints of pineapple and a touch of mango which are balanced by a light woodiness and minerality. Delicate cotton candy flavors and a light creaminess weave their way into the palate and continue through a crisp, fruity finish that is rounded out by warm toasted oak.
In the rolling foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains between the Napa and Sonoma Valleys, lies the picturesque Carneros region. Blessed by the morning fog, sunny days, and cooling bay breezes, this distinctive appellation is perfect for cultivating world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The 30+ year old Chardonnay vines located on the Big Bend Vineyard yield less than two tons per acre. Stone fruit and mineral aromatics, along with ripe citrus notes and fresh acidity are signature characteristics of this renowned region.
