Go on, have another. And another. And another.
For us, a Woot-Off means never having to say "don't you think you've had enough?" As long as you want more, we'll keep pouring. Until your order is delivered, the only intoxication you'll get will be the rush of saving money on great wine. But we've found that can be pretty powerful stuff.
Features
2008 Amador County Estate Syrah 750ml 6-Pack
This 2008 Syrah is a dark plum color. The aromas are ripe plum and new oak. Scents of vanilla and caramel from the small oak barrel aging complement the fruit aromas and flavors. The wine has a great structure and will age nicely. It can be cellared for at least 10 years.
As an Estate Wine, the grapes come only from Veauta Ranch. The term Estate Bottled is reserved for the highest expression of a winemaker’s art. It is a strict code of conduct that the grapes and wine must be under the control of the winery from the care in the vineyard until the wine is bottled.

The growing season of 2008 started off with a week of very cold temperatures prior to bud break. As in the previous vintage, we had half the normal rainfall, so we are officially in drought conditions. The year finished well and rain held off until December.
After gentle crushing and destemming, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks at moderately cool temperatures to retain varietal expression of the fruit. The finished wine was aged for 18 months in old French & American oak. This is a really great Syrah, and it will reward careful cellaring with a complex and flavorful wine even after 10 years.
