If the font, motto, and logo of Poizin Zinfandel don't give you a bit of a scare, the flavors ought to do the trick. With terrifying flavors like red-vine licorice, anise, black cherry, and red currants, this wine ought to give you a haunt. Seriously, have you ever seen a red currant? It's so red! AH! Terrifying.

2015 Poizin Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County
Deep ruby and purple in color, the bright nose exhibits plums, dried strawberry, raspberry and blackberries. The rich yet not overripe flavors of red-vine licorice, anise, black cherry, and red currants are full-bodied and true to the varietal. The Petite Sirah in the blend contributes black pepper spice, racy acidity and firm structure, and gives this wine its fleshy, rustic personality. A judicious use of toasty oak adds subtle vanilla bean, supple tannins and a smoky nuance.
Enjoy this Poizin with caution; it is The Wine to Die for!
