6 - American Gothic Red Blend 750ml
American Gothic Red Blend
Winner: Bronze Medal, San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
Pat Paulsen Vineyards first launched American Gothic Red in the mid 1980s, to great fanfare and acclaim. The label features Jane and Pat Paulsen, standing in front of the Pat Paulsen Vineyards tasting room in Asti, California, recreating the classic American painting by Grant Wood.
The wine is a dry red blend of premium Californian varietals, with moderate body and typical California fruitiness. Soft enough to drink on its own, yet with enough backbone to go well with a meal. Cabernet Sauvignon makes up most of the blend, so you know that this wine will be hearty and delicious.
Food Pairing: beef stew, hamburger, spaghetti, pizza. Or for the adventurous: chitlins, biscuits and gravy, or macaroni!
