2009 Emblem Sweet White Wine, Monterey County
This Emblem Monterey County “Sweet White Wine” has aromas of sweet thistle honey, dried apricots, orange blossoms and mango. There are flavors of sweet apricot nectar, candied orange, mango, honey and orange spice tea. The color is a liquid golden amber that is as beautiful as the wine is delicate.
2014 Emblem "Oso Musqué" Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley
The 2014 Emblem Oso Musqué displays a heady perfume of orange blossom and flavors of honeyed white peach and ripe, juicy mango.
Oso Vineyard
The grapes for our Emblem Sauvignon Blanc “Oso Musqué” were harvested from our family’s Oso Vineyard. Planted on slopes rising up from Swartz Creek, it is nestled between Sugarloaf and Howell Mountains in Napa Valley, where the historic Oat Hill Mine Road begins its ascent over the mountain toward Calistoga. There, the vines grow out of a porous soil through which run gravelly streaks. The high drainage stresses the vines, leading to high flavor concentration. The fruit remains fresh and vibrant throughout the growing season due to mild temperatures – warmer evenings and cooler days than on the valley floor – and afternoon breezes that blow straight down the vineyard rows.
Vintage Notes
Despite the lack of rain during the spring, Napa Valley had an excellent growing season and harvest provided an abundance of quality grapes. From spring bud break, through flowering, fruit set, and ripening, conditions were ideal. A consistent stretch of warm summer weather, with a few large heat spikes and plenty of cool and foggy nights, ripened grapes to perfection.
