2013 Delish Sauvignon Blanc 750ml 6-Pack
We’re proud of our winemaking team for crafting a one of a kind Sauvignon Blanc— Delish. Through carefully managed stainless steel fermentation at lower temperatures, using a specially selected yeast strain, as well as gentle lees stirring, we were able to bring out the best aroma and flavor qualities in our inaugural vintage.
Zesty and fresh, our California style Sauvignon Blanc is marked by layers of wonderful aromatics, most notably, citrus, tropical fruits, garden-fresh herbs, green grass and Bosc pear. On the palate there is a beautiful balance of brightness and freshness complemented by the subtle creaminess brought out by a small portion of the blend undergoing malolactic fermentation. The complement of French Colombard imparts subtle tropical fruit flavors of lemon and pineapple on the lingering finish. Herbal and fresh citrus flavors are balanced by invigorating acidity and natural sweetness of the fruit—a truly Delish Sauvignon Blanc.
Delish brings several summer favorite food pairings to mind. Enjoy with a farm fresh arugula salad topped with lemon vinaigrette and goat cheese or grilled vegetable bruschetta. For more substantial fare, try wild salmon filets roasted on the grill in a Beurre Blanc sauce for a pairing that is impeccably balanced.
Vintage: Vintners and growers around the state of California are heralding the excellent quality of the 2013 vintage, nearly identical to the previous year’s growing season. Many experienced healthy winter rains, limited amount of night frosts in the spring and few significant heat spikes in the summer—truly ideal conditions leading up to harvest. The long and sunny summer rewarded growers with extended hang time needed for flawless grape maturity. Winemakers across the board noted that fruit showed great balance and acidity, deep color intensity, good tannin structure and most importantly, rich and complex flavor profiles.
