2013 Blackbird Vineyards Arriviste Rosé, Napa Valley 750ml 4-Pack
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast
The 2013 Arriviste is an elegant, salmon red-colored rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. On the nose, strawberry and iris aromas meld with hints of tropical fruit. The wine showcases crisp flavors of tart cherry, red apple and cool citrus on the mid-palate, carrying clean minerality and bright acidity on to the lingering finish. The 2013 Napa Valley growing season saw near-optimal conditions, allowing for an abundance of perfectly-ripe grapes with a smooth balance of acids and sugars, producing this spectacular rosé.
Inspired by “les gitanes,” the gypsies of St. Emilion, Blackbird Vineyards’ Arriviste captures the high-spirited nature of winemaking. This vibrant, puckish rosé conjures images of summer twilights and harvest moons. While it hints at the flavors of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that frame it, Arriviste is not a wine to demystify. It is simply a wine to enjoy.
Vineyards: Each wine in the portfolio is a true example of Blackbird’s ongoing commitment to quality by partnering with a selection of Napa Valley’s most prestigious vineyards.
Blackbird Vineyard - Located in the Oak Knoll District, Blackbird’s estate vineyard, with clay soils underlaid by gravel, is an ideal site for Merlot. The region’s cool nights preserve acidity in the fruit, providing natural balance.
Hudson Vineyard - Perched on a rolling hillside in the cool climate of Carneros, the Hudson Vineyard is a high-quality fruit source for Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Stagecoach Vineyard - Atop the Vaca Mountains south of Pritchard Hill, the rocky, volcanic terroir of the Stagecoach Vineyard produces intense Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
Crocker & Starr Vineyard - The Crocker & Starr Vineyard’s deep pocket of well-drained gravel creates aromatic Cabernet Franc with impressive structure and finesse.

Founded in 2003 by Michael Polenske, Blackbird Vineyards is an artisanal producer of Pomerol-inspired wines from the Napa Valley. Planted in 1997, the estate vineyard is located in the heart of the Oak Knoll District—a region appreciated for its moderate climate and deep, gravelly soils. The vineyard’s valley floor topography presents optimum growing conditions for winemaker Aaron Pott to produce elegantly styled, appropriately balanced red wines that offer short and long term cellaring potential. Limited quantities are available through an allocated mailing list direct from the winery and in the finer restaurants and hotels around the world.
