Bonjour petit garçon, êtes-vous perdu?

Hello little boy, are you lost?

Oh, mes plus sincères excuses, M. Sarkozy.

Oh, my sincerest apologies, Mr. Sarkozy.

Où puis-je trouver le métro?

Where can I find the Metro?

The transport authorities are on strike again? That's like the 5th time this year.

No, no, I apologize. I know you all work very hard.

Oh, hard work was outlawed earlier this year? Well, that gives you more time to enjoy this delicious wine!

No, I'm not implying anything, Mister Hollande.

Gosh, I don't wish to upset anyone. I'll just take my car and depart.

My vehicle was burned in the weekly street protest? Very well. I'll just walk.

Features

2012 Rosé of Tannat, Russian River Valley 750ml 6-Pack

One of a kind! First ever “Rosé of Tannat” made in the US. Yannick made this dry, low alcohol Rosé the same way he learned to make South-West of France Rosé. You will be drawn in by this Rosé’s beautiful pink color. The nose is fresh, complex and expresses notes of fresh strawberry, cranberry and watermelon. The mouth feel is very refreshing and mouthwatering. Medium body with balanced texture and the juicy fruits linger in the mouth for a long time. Just the perfect companion for summer and for food courses like: grilled fish, fresh pizzas, fish tacos or cold pasta salads.

Tannat’s roots reach through the same French countryside as Yannick’s. As one of the Southwest of France’s hallmark red beauties, it hails from the Madiran region near the Pyrénées mountains.   It was the first red grape varietal with which Yannick made wine as an intern winemaker at Chateau Montus and Chateau Bouscassé, the top wine estates of Tannat and the Madiran appellation.

Y Rousseau Wines is the realization of a dream that began long ago in France and evolved as Yannick Rousseau, founder and winemaker, followed his heart and passion to live the 'Joie de Vivre' he learned at home.

Yannick was born in the Gascony region in the Southwest of France known for its 'French paradox' of delicious, rich food, daily wine consumption and impressive longevity of the inhabitants. His life-long journey in wine and food started when he was 5 years old and drank his first glass of homemade wine with Pépé (his grandpa). Pépé hunted his own food, made his own wine, and was an artisan butcher. Everyday, Yannick lived the simple life where his family took the time to enjoy their food, wines and the company of family and friends.

In 1996, Yannick made his first Colombard at Domaine St Lannes in the "Cotes de Gascogne". He also worked as assistant winemaker at Chateau Montus and Domaine Bouscassé with Alain Brumont, pioneer for the finest wines made in the Madiran appellation. In 1998, Yannick earned a Master's degree in Enology and Viticulture from University Paul Sabatier in Toulouse.

Since 1999, Yannick has been working his craft in Napa Valley making award winning wines; first, at Newton Vineyards as assistant winemaker where he worked closely with winemaker, Luc Morlet and consulting winemaker, Michel Rolland. Then at Chateau Potelle Winery, 2001-2006. Yannick was pivotal in crafting the cult VGS wines from Mount Veeder. It was his deft hand that guided the creation of consistently rewarded VGS wines. Marketta Fourmeaux, owner and winemaker, invited Yannick back as consultant winemaker for Chateau Potelle in 2006-2007.

In August 2007, Yannick stepped out to look for the ideal vineyards and varietals he believed in. He loves the intense mountain fruit of Mount Veeder and he found one of the last (34 year old) Colombard vineyard in Russian River Valley. The rest of the story is in the wines!

Top Comments are discussion forum posts we have deemed worthy of your time. Listen, we get a lot of comments, and most of the time, it's pretty forgettable stuff; but sometimes you rise to the top like butterfat in milk. We don't recommend you base your self-worth on how often we feature your comments, but we don't expressly forbid it either.
