Wine.Woot purchases now bypass your cart entirely! This means you gotta buy Wine.Woot items on their own, using your Amazon Payments account. You can't mix 'em up with stuff from our other sites. This cowboy's ridin' solo.

Be aware that anything in your cart from the other Woot sites is still out there and looking forward to your return. We'd hate for anything to sell out while you're reading this.

You missed it! But Today's Woot is waiting!

The wine that's as easy to drink as Australia is difficult to migrate to.

As if I didn't want to move to Australia bad enough already. The sunshine, the sense of humor, the awesome spiders - and now the Stonier Australian Chardonnay. I can't take much more.

Unfortunately, the Australian government doesn't want new immigrants unless they have "valuable skills" that can make a "meaningful contribution" to society. They only want "responsible people" who can "provide for themselves" instead of "draining valuable resources". And they don't consider my hacky-sack and bead-necklace skills "valuable". I know, right?

So until I learn how to do something useful - yeah, right - I have to make do with the Stonier Australian Chardonnay. A fruity nose, a creamy palate, high acidity: even their Chardonnay is laid-back and sociable. At least there's one Australian resource I can drain.

2007 Stonier Chardonnay, Mornington Peninsula 750ml 4-Pack

2007 was a challenging growing season - with quite a dry, but cool and windy Spring, then a very dry ripening and harvest period.  Very low yields resulted from the drought and the poor fruit set, with very small bunches and low berry numbers.  The fruit was also picked at somewhat lower sugar levels than in the past, displaying excellent fruit flavors, but maintaining the high natural acidity Stonier prizes.

  • Color: Pale gold, with green tints
  • Aroma: Exotic passionfruit and guava notes, lemon and honey bouquet, with subtle hints of malolactic fermentation and French oak
  • Palate: The palate reflects the generous fruit of the nose, with typical creamy mid-palate structure balanced by crisp acidity.
