Alright, so I've got the 2007 Spelletich Winery Spellwine Lodi Sangiovese. Now you're sure you know how to make this tomato and meat-based ragù pasta sauce?
"Well, that's the thing..."

"I thought I did, but I'm looking at this list of ingredients, and now I'm not so sure."
You do know that this wine is supposed to be a great pair for ragù, right? We planned this dinner on eating ragù pasta with this wine!
"I know. I know. Believe me, I'm just as stressed out over here."
Well, what are we going to do?
"I don't know. If only there was some sort of jarred pasta sauce we could just buy. One that we could go to just about any grocery store in just about any town, pick up, and use with our pasta? I remember hearing about one once, but I can't remember the name. I'm completely drawing a blank here."

The Spellwine Lodi-grown Sangiovese has sweet aromas that match its chewy caramel candy, black liquorice, rich chocolate and soft minty finish. It is a beautiful wine that pairs great with Italian tomato-meat ragù and pizza.
Persistent and cutting, it is a well devised wine, in which you can smell the Sangiovese finesse to the last drop. Perfectly balanced, the tannins are smooth, with well-shaped acids and intense, black liquorish, a memory of toffee; ends very clean.
