Wine.Woot purchases now bypass your cart entirely! This means you gotta buy Wine.Woot items on their own, using your Amazon Payments account. You can't mix 'em up with stuff from our other sites. This cowboy's ridin' solo.
Be aware that anything in your cart from the other Woot sites is still out there and looking forward to your return. We'd hate for anything to sell out while you're reading this.
Color us Slingshooted … Slingshotted … Slingshat? Something.
You, too, could save the village and make a new friend.
Cut off his head? Why would we do that? You’ve got that giant all wrong. Sure, he talked a good game:
“CHALLENGE ME! SEND OUT YOUR CHAMPION!”
But he’s not a bad guy.
No, we didn’t threaten to “smite” him. We just offered him a handshake, a bottle of 2011 Slingshot Cab, and some conversation. See, he wanted people to fear him. He spent his life being the scary giant because that’s the only way people respected him. After years of being mocked when he was young, he felt he had no other choice but to be mean.
After a couple of glasses of berries, dried cherries, currants and herbs, he opened up. He’s pretty friendly when you get to know him. And, boy, does he love the lyre! We sang songs, talked about life, and nobody had their head bashed in! Nice!
Our family proudly crafts the wines of Slingshot from our Napa Valley vineyard - delicious wines of character and complexity. Enjoy Slingshot as you forge your own path and discover your own adventure. Remember, wine should be fun!
This is a complex young red made in an approachable, drinkable style, but with plenty of links to its deep roots in profound Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Opening with a classic ripe aroma of berries, currants and hints of dried herbs and cedary oak, there wafts over the top an impression of graphite that hints at depth and richness to come. In the mouth the wine begins with a medium-bodied structure showing only a slight grip of ripe tannins, giving it a round, balanced feel that begs to be drunk straight away. The flavors of berries, dark cherries, currants and herbs are more effusive than the aroma, suggesting that the youthful aroma will expand with some bottle age which will be supported by the dash of astringency lurking in the long finish.
At Slingshot, our singular goal is to bring you a great bottle of Napa Valley wine at a reasonable price. We’re not interested in perplexing you. Nor do we churn out case after case that all tastes similarly dumbed down. Wine is about enjoying the experience. It should be inviting and challenging fun with a discernable backbone.
That’s what we aim for with every bottle of Slingshot. Great wine for sticking up for the little guy; even better for relaxing with friends.
Slingshot is a family effort shepherded by James Stewart, one of Napa Valley’s next generation winemakers—a group of young men and women assuming central roles in legacy wine businesses. James joins his peers in focusing on issues surrounding sustainability, preservation, labor practices and maintaining family-owned businesses. Slingshot reflects his ambition to preserve a vital family enterprise and practice meaningful land stewardship—both while producing unpretentious fine wine.

What are Top Comments?
Top Comments are discussion forum posts we have deemed worthy of your time. Listen, we get a lot of comments, and most of the time, it's pretty forgettable stuff; but sometimes you rise to the top like butterfat in milk.
We don't recommend you base your self-worth on how often we feature your comments, but we don't expressly forbid it either.
