2012 Rock Lobster Old Vine Zinfandel, Lodi 750ml 6-Pack

Aromas of dark alluring fruits fill the air, the palate has soft tannins with rich layers of delicious black berries, raspberries and blueberry’s with soft hints of vanilla and integrated earth tones. The finish is long and lingering with nice blueberry overtones. The wine has soft tannins, good acidic structure making it an outstanding example of an Old Vine Zinfandel.
There are a few great production areas for Zinfandel in California: Sonoma, Paso Robles, the Sierra Foothills, and Lodi. Lodi was the first production region in California to commercially produce Zinfandel, and because of this there is more acreage of old vine Zinfandel than in the rest of California combined. Zinfandel flourishes in Lodi, with its deep and fertile soils, warm days and cool nights. The grapes mature with an intensity of ripe flavors that cannot be duplicated anywhere else. To create the wine style that is Rock Lobster, we work closely with only a select few growers, who care about what happens in the vineyard as much we care about the wine that goes in the bottle.
The grapes are selected from vineyards with an average age of more than 50 years. This ensures us ripe, rich and concentrated fruit, while still giving attention to a balanced level of acidity. 45-55% of the wine spends time in both American and French oak the balance of the wine is kept in stainless steel thus creating a rich luscious balanced Old Vine Zinfandel.
