Winemaker's Dozen
Like bakers, we also want to be in the business of selling items in packs of twelve, but whenever we try to sell a dozen of something, everyone always asks, "Where's the thirteenth!? When I got my bagels this morning, there were thirteen, so where's my thirteenth bottle of wine?"
We could hang our heads in shame, but in reality, it's not our fault. We can't compete with the lavish lifestyle of the baker, rolling up in a flashy sports car, pumping pastries full of jam day in and day out.
So when you buy this case of Pedroncelli Mixed Red Wine, realize that we really would like to give you another bottle of wine, but the problem is, we're not bakers. We're just innocent winesellers. What can we say?
Features
2009 Pedroncelli Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley, Bushnell Vineyard 750ml 6-Pack
The Bushnell Vineyard Zinfandel has a very fragrant nose of ripe strawberry and cherries followed by jammy concentrated berry and plum flavors. Structured, rounded and full in the mouth, this wine has a long, lingering finish laced with warm oak undertones.
Winemaking
The fruit was picked the last week of September and fermented separately in small capacity stainless steel tanks which lends better skin-to-juice ratio. Daily pumpovers of the juice and skins extracts color, flavor and tannins. Following fermentation and pressing, the young wine was transferred to American oak barrels to age for eleven months. The time in the barrel added complexity, making a softer, smoother wine.
2010 Pedroncelli Cabernet Sauvignon, Dry Creek Valley, Three Vineyards 750ml 6-Pack
Rich aromas of ripe raspberry and cherry highlight this full flavored Cabernet Sauvignon. Highlighted by bright acidity, just the right amount to showcase the fruit. Plum, toasted oak notes and warm clove spice combine to round out the flavors. With firm tannins and a lasting finish, it is ready to enjoy upon release or cellar up to five more years.
Three Vineyard Blend
If this blend was a painting, then the estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc provide a rich canvas for this wine. These varietals develop exceptional character on the vineyard sites situated on the Dry Creek Valley bench. The vines receive the right amount of sun and cooling fog which develops optimal flavors in the grapes. Careful vineyard management during the growing season defines the style even more. This proprietary blend is a California classic.

Bushnell Vineyard History
Located on the eastern hillsides of Dry Creek Valley, the 20-acre Bushnell Vineyard has been closely related to the Pedroncelli family for over 50 years. Winery founder John Sr. purchased the property in 1945, and, at the time, it was planted to Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Carignane. The vineyard was sold to son-in-law Al Pedroni in the 1950’s and he tended the vineyard for over 40 years. Al’s daughter Carol Bushnell inherited the vineyard in the 1990’s and she and her husband Jim now farm the vineyard. They grow Zinfandel and Petite Sirah — a small portion of Petite Sirah from their vineyard was blended into this year’s vintage.
