Wine.Woot purchases now bypass your cart entirely! This means you gotta buy Wine.Woot items on their own, using your Amazon Payments account. You can't mix 'em up with stuff from our other sites. This cowboy's ridin' solo.

Be aware that anything in your cart from the other Woot sites is still out there and looking forward to your return. We'd hate for anything to sell out while you're reading this.

You missed it! But Today's Woot is waiting!

Preface To The Silver Top

It's just a fact. When you see pages, sooner or later, you're going to find a Preface. This one just happens to be a Cabernet.

Authors can't help themselves, you know? They write a whooooole book, but they've still got to throw in a tiny little explanation about what you're about to read. That's called "the preface" most of the time, and we think "preface" is Latin for "got this one past the editor, ha ha ha!"

So we were really surprised to find that such nice 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon would have such a heartbreaking name as "Preface." Because, face it, EVERYONE learned in high school that a preface is fully skippable. But who could skip a nice thick mix of black cherry and currant?

To be fair, this is a two-pack, so the Preface does serve as a lead-in to the 2007 Silver Top Syrah. And, like many great works of literature, the Silver Top has won some awards, like the Gold Medal at the World Wine Championships and a 93 point Exceptional rating. But it's not taking away from the Syrah to say HEY, THIS PREFACE IS ACTUALLY WORTH SOMETHING! DON'T JUST FLIP PAST IT WHILE WRITING YOUR REPORT ON THE BUS!

Anyway, we just wanted to clarify that.

2007 Silver Top Syrah 750ml
Deep garnet black color. Intricate spicy aromas, dark toasted fruit cake, beeswax, toffee, and peppery spices with a supple, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a tangy, spiced apple, nuts, candied citrus and cherry accented finish. Elegant and refreshing for sipping or the table.
  • World Wine Championships Award: Gold Medal
  • Rating: 93 points (Exceptional)

2008 Preface Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

Subtle and restrained cab flavors emerge quietly from the over shadowing presence of black cherries and currant. Bright and thick. Leisurely elegant, near perfect tannins.

Page Cellars

Jim Page
Woodinville, WA
While most of us built castles in the air, Jim Page built a winery in the air.   Page, a Tacoma based corporate pilot, had wine makers Eric Dunham (Dunham Cellars) and Matt Loso (Matthews Cellars) on board after a distributor visit in Florida. While flying at 37,000 feet above the Sunshine state, their conversation turned to wine. The duo inspired him to pursue his dream of owning a winery, offering themselves as resources.   Page followed through, with his eponymous Page Cellars.
The journey started in 2000 when Jim and Rothelle Page brought their vision into focus with the debut of “Preface”, the winery's signature Cabernet Sauvignon.   Production has grown from the inaugural 200 cases to 2500 cases today, and includes a luscious Syrah and a delightfully crisp Sauvignon Blanc.   From the confines of their two car Gig Harbor garage to the heart of Woodinville Wine Country, this urban boutique winery has made a habit of producing award winning wines. Page Cellars wines can be found in the fine wine shops and select restaurants throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Page Cellars produces wines of exceptional quality that accurately reflect the small vineyards from which they are produced.  Our techniques and respect for natural balance allows the rhythm of the vineyard and the creativity of the wine maker to enter in a convenient conversation.  Uncompromising quality, handcrafted premium red wines from the finest fruit and the very best vineyards on Red Mountain and the Columbia Valley defines the essence of Page Cellars.
