History Lesson
Thomas Jefferson was a pretty amazing dude. He did so many things for this country that a lot of people don't even know about. For instance, he invented electricity, the light bulb and time travel.
He was also really honest. Like so honest that people called him "Honest Tom." One time he chopped down a cherry tree, and when asked if he had done it he replied, "I cannot tell a lie. I did. And also yes, those jeans do make you look fat."
Perhaps his greatest contribution to society, however, is his Monticello Vineyards Cabernet. You see, he was inspired by the fruit of that felled tree to make a wine with a nose of black cherry, plum and spicy current. And he so loved its toasty vanillin oak aromatics that he once proclaimed, "Cabernet is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."
I know you're skeptical. I was too. How could a man from the 1700s produce a well-balanced wine that finishes long with medium tannins on the palate in 1998? TIME TRAVEL, remember? I know. Just let it all sink in.
