2010 Mahoney Vineyards Pinot Noir Mahoney Ranch, Carneros 750ml 2-Pack
Darker ruby color, with a deep burgundy center. Ripe dark cherry, red plum and black tea, with oak derived notes of toasted nuts, spice, caramel, and a hint of smoke. Very forward flavors, ripe and expressive, with oak and fruit vying for top billing. This is concentrated, structured, and dense...with ample tannin, and good acidity, wrapped in a supple robe of sweet fruit.
2010 Mahoney Vineyards Estate Pinot Noir, Carneros 750ml 2-Pack
This wine shows a deep ruby color with only a hint of brick. Aromas of Bing cherry, caramel and vanilla, and touches of nutmeg and herbs beneath. In the mouth, the initial impression is of ripe red cherries with tea, followed by fine tannins enhanced by a core of acidity. Subtle oak flavors of vanilla and spice linger in the finish. The wine has a nice combination of brightness and ripe fruit, with depth and structure in the mouth.
2010 Mahoney Vineyards Las Brisas Vineyard Pinot Noir, Carneros 750ml 2-Pack
Lovely ruby red color and bright clean cherry aromas to match. The nose is very red-fruit focused with hints of oak, dried herbs and wet stone beneath. The mouthfeel is lively, with nice acidity amplifying the cherry and raspberry flavors, and subtle oak in the background. Tannins are moderate, but sufficient to give substance and grip, while acid keeps the wine fresh, bright and food friendly.

In the early 70s, my wife Kathy and I set out on a journey that has now spanned forty years in the Napa Valley. Our youthful combined passions for each other and wine drove us to follow our dreams. We moved north from San Francisco to become grape farmers and to eventually open a modern winery. Due to our love of Burgundies, the southern end of Napa was ideal, and in many ways the Carneros chose us. The soil, microclimate, and untapped potential of the land were perfect for what we had in mind; growing incredible Pinot Noir.
Kathy and I have worked extensively over the years researching Pinot Noir Clones with UC Davis and comparing notes with growers throughout Napa and Sonoma in pursuit of great appellation specific wines. Our research in the vineyards continues to this day, as we reflect on how our home, our lives, our dreams, and our passions are all entrenched in the soils of the Carneros. Kathy and I invite you to join us in toasting 40 years of passion, family, friends, farming, and our never ending pursuit to grow world-class wines.
