2014 'Ōlelo Merlot, Paso Robles
Paso Robles is ideally located for growing intense, fruit- driven Bordeaux varietals. Merlot is perfectly suited to the warm days and cool nights that Paso Robles offers. Those warm days and cool nights produce grapes of the perfect phenological ripeness which develop into rich, fruit-forward wines. The tannins are subtle, the body rich and supple and the finish lingering.
Vineyard Sources
Sustainably farmed by people that love the land and are committed to growing the finest fruit possible at the French Camp Vineyard - located in The Paso Robles Highlands District AVA.
Method of Production
The grapes were night harvested and cold soaked for six days to enhance color and soft tannin extraction, prior to being fermented on skins for 7-10 days. The wines were then aged in New French and One Year Old American Oak Barrels for approximately 9 months prior to bottling.
