May Showers (of Wine) Bring Happy Hours

It's such a lovely time of year - but not so lovely that it couldn't be made a little lovelier. Tip a glass or few of these fine wines and let their euphoric glow bring a sparkling sense of well-being to sunny and blustery days alike. Also they're super-cheap.

Features

2010 Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley, Mendocino County 750ml 3-Pack

A young wine that will continue to improve with time. Its deep rich color and nice acid balance will make it drinkable for years. This wine’s nose begins with a nicely-balanced bouquet of rose petal, mushrooms & strawberry. The taste starts with bright cherry & rhubarb, followed by a long finish of bing cherry, plum, mushroom and a touch of forest floor.

Jon Phillips of Inspiration Vineyards and Winery partnered with Anne and George Coughlin on this project; they have been friends for many years.  When John announced in 2009 that he would be making his last Sonoma County Pinot Noir in 2010, they protested and took matters into their own hands; creating a new outlet for Jon to produce Pinot Noir.

Frati Horn means Wine Glass in Boontling, a native dialect from the Anderson Valley where this Pinot Noir is grown. Although asked to keep the vineyard source a secret, fruit was sourced from an ultra-premium vineyard with the goal of producing a premium Pinot Noir that is representative of the very best from this region.

Frati Horn (“glass of wine”) is our tribute to the unique terroir of Anderson Valley. It derives from Boontling a native language created in Boonville (circa 1880s). We use only the grapes of small Anderson Valley farmers to produce our Frati Horn wines. We’re thrilled to share the simple beauty that caused us to be Stook On ("in love") with Anderson Valley.

To all of you, we raise our Frati Horn.

Bahl Hornin’!

In Partnership: Frati Horn is made in close partnership with our dear friend Jon Phillips at Inspiration Vineyards and Winery. Jon is the inspiration behind Frati Horn.
