Wine.Woot purchases now bypass your cart entirely! This means you gotta buy Wine.Woot items on their own, using your Amazon Payments account. You can't mix 'em up with stuff from our other sites. This cowboy's ridin' solo.

Be aware that anything in your cart from the other Woot sites is still out there and looking forward to your return. We'd hate for anything to sell out while you're reading this.

Building Bridges

Emphasis on "foggy."

"Okay, Herman. I hate these team-building exercises as much as you, but the sooner we build this dumb bridge, the sooner we get to go home and forget this weekend ever happened. I’ve got the schematics here. You picked up the materials, right?"

"Uh. I hate to say it, Frank, but I think I misunderstood the directions."

"What do you mean?"

"The only 'materials' I’ve brought today are some bottles of Foggy Bridge wine."

"Wow, Herman. That’s a huge misunderstanding, yes. Frankly, if we weren’t currently engrossed in our circumstances, I’m sure it might be slightly amusing, but as it is, I have to say, I’m a little frustrated right now."

"Whoa, Frank. Relax. Here, let's have a glass of this wine, calm down a bit, and assess the situation."

"That’s an excellent idea."

4 hours later

"...and, dude, we could build a bridge out of stuff ‘round here, right, Hermam? I mean, who says WE have to adhere to THEIR rules anyway? Anything could be a bridge. THIS stick here? Brrridge. THIS ROCK? Bridge."

"Fronk, you’re a, you, genius, man. I - I just - you’re my best friend."

Features

2008 Pinot Noir, Bien Nacido Vineyard, Santa Maria Valley 750ml

Daryl Groom, our winemaker, crafted this well structured 2008 Pinot Noir with fruit harvested from the Bien Nacido Vineyard in Santa Maria. The wine reflects the quality of the harvest with depth of color and bright fruit, and shows beautiful aromas of Bing cherry, strawberry and pomegranate. Made in the style of French Pinot Noir, its soft, elegant structure and natural, well balanced acidity makes this a perfect food-friendly wine from a premier California vineyard. An original Spanish land grant from the 1830's, the Bien Nacido Vineyard is one of the most well known vineyards in California's Central Coast Region.

2007 Riesling, Columbia Valley 750ml

With aromas of green apple, pear and tangerine, this Columbia Valley Riesling from Washington state displays crisp acidity and bright floral flavors. Fermented in stainless steel with no malolactic fermentation or oak aging, its clean, lively palate is balanced by a very slight residual sweetness. This wine can be enjoyed as an aperitif on a warm, summer day. It is a great complement to spicy Asian dishes as well as charcuterie and mild cheeses and will also taste delicious with fresh fruit desserts.

2009 Zinfandel, San Francisco Bay 750ml

Daryl Groom, our winemaker, crafted this well structured 2009 Zinfandel with fruit harvested from our estate vineyard located in Livermore, California. One of our GEO series of wines (Green, Earth, Origins) the wine reflects the quality of the harvest with depth of color and bright fruit. It shows beautiful flavors of blackcurrant and spice. Made in a lighter style, it has an elegant structure and natural, well-balanced acidity that makes this a perfect food-friendly wine from a premier California vineyard.

John Kontrabecki

Foggy Bridge is a winery whose heart is in the City by the Bay and whose soul lies in its people. We are independent thinking and creative spirits who came together with a shared vision of what we like in wine, namely bright fruit, layered complexity and balance. We believe that wines with these characteristics represent the true essence of wine in its simplest form.

Our wines are crafted from a different point of view - with our own sense of quality, finesse and taste - to be enjoyed alone or with a meal, with fine cuisine or casual dining. Our goal is to make Foggy Bridge wines part of your life as the wines you enjoy with family and friends every day.

In the future, we will bring winemaking back to San Francisco by opening the first visitor focused urban winery in the city, and when it opens, it will be as unique and welcoming as the city itself. Foggy Bridge Winery will be the premier place to enjoy great wines in the heart of the City by the Bay.

Please join us in our adventure - enjoy the wines now, and look forward to the sharing the Foggy Bridge experience with us!

What are Top Comments?

Top Comments are discussion forum posts we have deemed worthy of your time. Listen, we get a lot of comments, and most of the time, it's pretty forgettable stuff; but sometimes you rise to the top like butterfat in milk. We don't recommend you base your self-worth on how often we feature your comments, but we don't expressly forbid it either.
