Here's a weird fact about Corvina: Some oeno-thorities recommend pairing it with "shredded, cured horse meat." If that grape can make a pony taste yummy, imagine all the other things it'll go well with.

2010 Corte Cariano Corvina, Veneto IGT 750ml 3-Pack

The Brunelli wines come from vineyards at San Pietro in Cariano, to the northwest of Verona in the historic Valpolicella Classico zone. The special nature of this area is due to its unique soil, the presence of only indiginous grape varieties, and to the particular method of production - found nowhere else in the world - which consists of semi-drying the grapes, especially in order to make the famous Recioto and Amarones. Over the course of the years the Brunelli's have added to the estate, new holdings have now been obtained in Piedmonte and Custoza, bringing their total area under vine to 12 hectares.

This red is made from 100% Corvina, which is the superior grape that goes into the Valpolicella blend, famous from this region. The wine is aged for 12 months in small French bariques, then left a further 4 months in bottle. Surprisingly rich & full bodied, it's quite juicy with scents of blackberries, red currants & cherries all combining with the spice from the oak. Ends with a long, wonderfully rounded finish!

Vendor Details

Brunelli

Location:
Cariano, Italy

Ever since it has existed, the Brunelli name has been closely connected to the area of San Pietro in Cariano, a small valley in the Classic Valpolicella whose name derives from the Roman Cariae family. It is in this spot in the countryside, with age-old vacantion for growing vines, that the Brunelli family has handed down from generation to generation the ancient passion which has made its wines known and appreciated all over the world.

The estate is now in the capable hands of Luigi, enologist, and of his wife Luciana who, sharing Luigi's expertise and passion, has created a special range of wines that distinguishes itself for both the virile and feminine values it expresses.  "The characters of a wine the expression of its creator's emotions". This is all the more true in the case of the wines from the Brunelli Estate. We discover, in fact, that the Amarone Campo dei Titari, with its forthright style that pulls no punches, is the very image of a determinate and enigmatic craftsman of the soil.

Luigi Brunelli - vine growner, winemaker, businessman and craftsman - creates, with his own hands and with the help of his family, products that are refined and of incomparable character and quality: the Amarone Riserva.  Luigi is convinced that each of his wines tells a story: a story of pleasure and of unique fascination and emotions.

The wines of Brunelli's Company seduce and transport you with their mellowness, their harmony and their roundedness into a world of strong emotions and even of trepidation, where they tell of strength, of flavor and of fruits of the earth and of the vine as its grows. That is what Brunelli whizzes to convey in every wine he makes, from his celebrated Amarone Reserves - Campo del Titari and Campo Inferi - to the Corte Cariano and the Ripasso.

The Brunelli wines come from vineyards located in San Pietro in Cariano, which lies to the north-west of Verona in the historic Valpolicella Classic area.
