A Blend Of Activities

We all know what to do with a bottle of Caravel wine. You drink it, of course! But once you're done with that last drop, what's next?

We've been racking our brains with what to do with that empty bottle, and here's what we've got:

Recycle it: Well, that's easy enough. Just toss it in the recycle bin with all that other glass stuff.

Ship in a bottle: Given that this wine is Caravel wine, it seems perfectly fitting to set up a miniature ship in a bottle. Get your magnifying glass and tweezers ready, and build a tiny sculpture.

Message in a bottle: Write a note, pop it in a bottle, and throw it in the ocean. See where it ends up!

Hmmm, that's all we've got, and those are all fairly obvious. Maybe you should just enjoy the blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Sauvignon Blanc that gives you the zesty taste of this Caravel California White Blend instead of worrying what to do about the bottle. Silly you.

Features

Caravel California White Blend 750ml 5-Pack

The base of the blend is Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc: Chardonnay provides crisp apple and pear flavors, Sauvignon Blanc provides zesty citrus flavors and an aromatic, floral component; Pinot Gris provides richness and body.  A dash of other varietals were added for additional complexity and nuance.  Grapes for this beautiful and elegant wine were drawn from across some of the best growing areas for white grapes including California's central coast, the Sierra Foothills and Lodi in the Sacramento River Delta. This white wine blend marries crisp, young intense fruit flavors with more subtle, complex flavors.

Light to medium bodied with floral, honeysuckle accents on the nose, the entry exhibits sweet star fruit, white peach and pear flavors, with a mid palate full of melon and grapefruit undertones.  The finish is smooth, dry and refreshingly crisp.  This wine is easy to drink now and pairs well with light appetizers, lean meats and spicy fare.

The story of Caravel / Outcast starts in summer of 2008. Three friends from three distant places come together around a shared passion for California Wine and decide to embark upon a journey together! In an industry with large players and abundant household wine brands, their newly established company had its work cut out. After many days of convivial repartee, they went to work and started planning their first wine release in the summer of 2010. Caravel, their inaugural effort, was received with excitement and exceptional success - the 2007 Cabernet and White Wine Blend sold out in only a few short months.  Given that Caravel was a success in its own right, it became time to ratchet up the stakes and venture into a premium space with Outcast. Having visited upwards of 250 of California's best wineries, the team began seeking choice grapes and wines and realized that they could create something very special in showcasing the best of California varietals while maintaining a heightened sense of terroir and value..

About the names Caravel and Outcast:
Caravel ships (think Columbus’ Nina and Santa Maria) were the first vessels to carry fine merchandise like clothing, spices, and wine from port to port around the world. Today, the Caravel brand exemplifies this same spirit – uniting people one glass at a time.  Outcast describes a wine conceived outside the traditional wine establishment and the people behind the scenes (Alex, Anuj and Peter). Believe us when we say that this band of brothers is idiosyncratic and full of personality (remember the guy at the party with the tartan pants?). Robert Frost once said, “two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." This poem is the beating heart and lifeblood that guides the principles for their efforts. Outcast takes the less beaten path, and this is reflected in all aspects of the brand. The images of the Horse and Lone Rider on the label symbolize the vision and quest that each partner shares - to seek rare wine gems and bring them to you. Closely study the label and myriad esoteric images will be revealed – if you can find all 5, let us know by sending us a facebook message and you may find a surprise waiting!!!
With each bottle purchased, you will feel good about the wine you are enjoying, knowing that you are making a difference. We pledge 5% of our profits to projects that support improving quality of life across the world. Please email us at info@caravelwine.com if you have a suggestion you would like us to consider.
