2013 Benessere Rosato Di Sangiovese 750ml 6-Pack
The 2013 Rosato di Sangiovese is a beautiful, clear, pale pink and offers enticing aromas of strawberries, cherries and blood orange. The perky acidity makes it a wonderful summer quaffer, but the wine has depth and complexity that allow it to complement even robust fare.
The Vintage: Expectations were high for the 2013 vintage, following the success of 2012, and Mother Nature did not disappoint. Warm spring weather led to an early bloom, and the lack of rainfall during the period allowed the vines to set another large crop. The vines ripened their crop early, retaining bright acidity and beautiful flavors at relatively low sugars.
Winemaking: We picked the Sangiovese for our 2013 Rosato 8 days before we picked Sangiovese for our red wine, capturing brighter fruit flavors and a lively character. The grapes were whole cluster-pressed and fermented and matured in stainless steel to preserve its fresh, appealing character.
Pairings: Rosé is a tremendously versatile food wine. Try it with a baked Italian cheese sandwich or prosciutto panini. It will also show nicely with grilled chicken or pasta with puttanseca sauce. It’s also delightful served chilled as an apertif!
