Wine.Woot purchases now bypass your cart entirely! This means you gotta buy Wine.Woot items on their own, using your Amazon Payments account. You can't mix 'em up with stuff from our other sites. This cowboy's ridin' solo.
Be aware that anything in your cart from the other Woot sites is still out there and looking forward to your return. We'd hate for anything to sell out while you're reading this.
It's Only Pair
When it comes to this wine, the pairing possibilities are practically limitless.
We don't want you to typecast this wine.
Just because the one pairing it has listed is "slow roasted duck napped with a dried cherry reduction," it doesn't mean that has to be your only option. This wine DOES go well with other things too.
Like, for example, a medium-rare steak marinated in that special sauce from Esteban's steakhouse three miles off of highway 19 with a side of mashed potatoes imported from Ireland.
Or, you know, something simple like fresh-made linguini served al dente topped with a sun-dried tomato sauce cooked on simmer for 17 hours and 20 minutes, accompanied with an anchovy, arugula, and spinach salad, topped with anchovy-less Caesar dressing (because you already have anchovies in the salad).
See! There are plenty of things this wine goes with! So buy some, and get to preparing your next meal.
Pinot Noir grown on the Cole Ranch is distinguished by a deepness and darkness in color and intensity of fruit. The aromas of the 2008 Reserva are dominated by dark cherry, accented by cedar and cocoa and the sweet spiciness of clove. This wine exhibits substantial structure and weight on the mid-palate and length in its finish. Cellar for three to five years to enjoy the more intricate complexities of the aromas that will develop over aging. Would be most delicious served with slow roasted duck napped with a dried cherry reduction to highlight the sweetness of the fruit.

The Sterling Family
Mendocino Coast - Philo, CA
Esterlina Vineyards: “Quietly making wines that are too good to ignore.”™
Esterlina Vineyards is a family-owned, California boutique winery located near the Mendocino coast, nestled in the highlands above Philo. We produce a variety of exceptional fine wines in limited quantities from grapes grown primarily in our family's own vineyards. We produce wines from our vineyards in five different appellations, such as the Anderson Valley, and Cole Ranch. In fact, Esterlina owns the only vineyard in the Cole Ranch Appellation, which is America’s smallest American Viticultural Area (AVA).
Esterlina wines are handcrafted--there is no assembly line manufacturing case after case. Our family grows the grapes, makes the wine, and bottles each varietal we offer. While the wine conglomerates offer similar varietals, few wineries make their wines the way we do: bottle by bottle. From our world-class, award-winning Russian River Valley and Anderson Valley Pinot Noirs, to our sought after Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, wine enthusiasts love Esterlina wines.

Top Comments are discussion forum posts we have deemed worthy of your time. Listen, we get a lot of comments, and most of the time, it's pretty forgettable stuff; but sometimes you rise to the top like butterfat in milk.
We don't recommend you base your self-worth on how often we feature your comments, but we don't expressly forbid it either.
