All-New All-Different Wine.Woot Details

Wine.Woot purchases now bypass your cart entirely! This means you gotta buy Wine.Woot items on their own, using your Amazon Payments account. You can't mix 'em up with stuff from our other sites. This cowboy's ridin' solo.

Be aware that anything in your cart from the other Woot sites is still out there and looking forward to your return. We'd hate for anything to sell out while you're reading this.

You missed it! But Today's Woot is waiting!

Starting A Band

Just stick to your day job, alright? That's a damn fine corkscrew. What more do you want?

"Guys, I'm thinking of starting a band. You want in?"

What's it called?

"That's the best part. You ready for it … Electric Houdini."

Dude. No.

"What? It's an awesome name!"

Yeah. An awesome name for a corkscrew with a built-in foil cutter on top.

"C'mon! There have definitely been weirder band names."

Do you even play an instrument?

"Sure. I mean, yeah. Of course."

Oh yeah? What?

"Listen what happens when I run my finger along the top of these bottles containing varying levels of partially consumed wine. You hear that?"

Yeah, we hear it. And it's terrible. Seriously, maybe you should just stick to bartending corporate events.

"Maybe you're right. It doesn't get much better than pulling up to 30 corkscrews on a single charge. Hey! That'd be a great name for a first single, don't you think? 30 Corkscrews On A Single Charge!"

Ugh. No.

Riki Kane
New York, NY
Metrokane was founded in 1983 by Riki Kane, who had been an advertising copywriter and a syndicated journalist, as well as the creator of the popular newspaper word game, “Wordy Gurdy.” While travelling in Mexico, she purchased a manual citrus juicer, which she brought home to squeeze her morning orange juice. She was surprised to find that manual juicers had been extinct in the U.S. since the advent of electric citrus juicers in the ‘50’s. Convinced that the manual juicer is superior to the electric kind, she re-introduced it to the American market with a classic retro design called “The Mighty OJ.” Metrokane’s Mighty OJ Juicer was an immediate success in department and specialty stores around the country.
Initially, Ms. Kane ran the business from her apartment—expanding her line of juicers and fighting a long, but ultimately successful legal battle against Mighty OJ imitations (called “knock-offs” in the industry). As the company expanded, she was joined in the business by her husband, Bob Larimer, who had recently sold his advertising agency to a large company.

Top Comments are discussion forum posts we have deemed worthy of your time. Listen, we get a lot of comments, and most of the time, it's pretty forgettable stuff; but sometimes you rise to the top like butterfat in milk. We don't recommend you base your self-worth on how often we feature your comments, but we don't expressly forbid it either.
