Wine Cask Creations Wine Stave Coat & Garden Rack
Made from the only stave of the barrel with a hole in it...referred in the industry as a "Bung hole" (used by vintners to fill and drain the barrel of wine), I have turned this once-bound-for-the-wine-barrel-graveyard item into a useful coat, bar-b-que or garden rack. After sanding and oiling the stave, I hand-craft the hooks by pounding out ¼-inch cold roll iron and welding a piece of flat iron, which is then secured to the stave using bolts. I then reattached four pieces of hoop that once held the barrel together.
Included are two screws to secure to any wall, inside or out, and two oak plugs to conceal the screw holes.
- Full-size rack with 6 hooks and 4 barrel hoop pieces.
- Approximate dimensions 37” L X 7” W X 4.5”

Wine Cask Creations
I grew up in the middle of a vineyard in the Central Valley of California. I have always been involved with the wine industry, from working with wine grapes and table grapes for my dad in the summers to managing a vineyard on the California Central Coast after college. Working with wood products such as wine casks for the last 5 years started off as a hobby. It has now evolved into my business. I exclusively use retired red wine oak barrels purchased from California wineries which I recycle into innovative home products. I enjoy and take great pride in creating my products.
