Certifications aren't all bad, but we go the extra mile. We visit farmers ourselves, checking working conditions and environmental impact. It's essential to our business ethics. Not certified organic. Our farmers’ operations are too small to afford organic certification. Instead, we verify much more often than the USDA that they use no pesticides or chemicals. Not certified Fair or Direct Trade. Neither ensures that the workers on the farm benefit. Our Social Project Coffee directly helps farm workers and their communities. How's that for a cup of coffee?

This is the blend we serve in our New York City stores. We roast it by hand in Brooklyn to a medium-dark. It is delicious, with notes of berry, chocolate, and toasted almond.
Each component of the blend is tied to a project at origin that helps the most vulnerable in the coffee supply chain.
