Smooth and luscious with lovely raspberry and cherry fruit and also displaying notes of roasted meats and spice. Fresh, long and ripe with seductive flavors and sensuous texture. It finishes firm and mouthwatering, with lasting flavors of red plum and juniper. A gamey pinot for roast boar.

The fruit for this bottling was sourced primarily from various blocks in the Bien Nacido Vineyard and a small portion of the blend was derived from nearby vineyards that share the same soil and climate within the Santa Maria Valley. Situated on a bench overlooking the Santa Maria River, Bien Nacido benefits greatly from a strong marine influence conducive to growing the finest Pinot Noir fruit in the state. Winemaker Etienne Terlinden processes the fruit in small lots and all punch downs are performed by hand. The wine is aged in 100% French oak with minimal intervention for an average of 12 months.
