2014 Mustache Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Lodi, California
The aromas bring thoughts of fresh Bing cherry, raspberry, and strawberry combined with slight notes of vanilla and leather. It is medium bodied, with nice layers of berry fruit, soft approachable tannins, and earthy structure with a good finish from balanced acidity. This wine could easily pair with cheese, pasta, red meat dishes, stew, chocolate, or as a stand alone glass of wine to be enjoyed.
The grapes come from vineyards that benefit from the deep and rich soils that make-up the Lodi Appellation-Wine Enthusiast’s 2015 Wine region of the Year. The fruit benefits from warm sunny days and cool nights as a result of gentle breezes coming from the San Francisco Bay and the Delta waterways. This allows the fruit to mature and have a proper balance between fruit character and structure. The fruit was harvested at optimal ripeness and was crushed and fermented in stainless steel vessels. The wine was then aged in experienced barrels and allowed to age for twelve months. The blend was then created and prepared for bottling. A well balanced wine for you to enjoy.
