2008 Lang Zinfandel, Amador County, Oakmont Vineyards 750ml 6-Pack
A multiple medal winner for the 4th year in a row! Our 2008 Amador County Zinfandel from Oakmont Vineyards continues a tradition of excellence. On a strikingly beautiful hilltop above the Cosumnes River, winegrower Vicki Delpart personally tends her 36-year old vines and consistently provides outstanding fruit. Winemaker Mark McKenna eagerly looks forward to receiving Vicki's grapes; our wines from her vineyard's granite-based Sierra soils are always luscious, fruit-filled, balanced and full bodied.
This 2008 Zinfandel is robust and hearty. Aromas are of raspberries, black cherries, slow-cooked fruits and clove. The wine is rich, full-bodied and silky-smooth. Flavors of pomegranate juice, cherries and strawberries lead seamlessly to a long finish that is firm and smokey. Well balanced and supported by a firm background of toasty French oak which also provides hints of licorice and vanilla.
