Judd's Hill 2008 Petite Sirah, Old Vine, Lodi 750ml 3-Pack
As in years past, this new vintage of Judd's Hill Old Vine Petite Sirah is concentrated and opulent, while maintaining a food-friendly balance. The nose is rich with black currant, Bing cherries and brambly berry aromas. When tasting the wine, you won’t have to work too hard to identify its robust flavors. It is concentrated and smoky with flavors of boysenberry pie, currant and quince.
Finding foods to pair with this deliciously expressive wine is not much of a challenge. Consider dishes with big, bold, and even fruity flavors like baby back ribs with a sweet bourbon glaze or a pizza of spicy chorizo, manchego and arugula. A grilled sirloin steak, simply seasoned with fresh cracked pepper makes a nice minimalist pairing. And, as always, the comfort foods of Asia work well with this versatile wine. Spicy Hunan style beef, or Red Thai curry dishes are great options.
