Eastburn Vineyards

Owner:
Mark Eastburn
Location:
Sherwood, OR
What started as Mark Eastburn’s dream of owning a prime vineyard in his native Oregon to produce outstanding wines became a reality on a crisp morning in the early days of the new millennium.  Over lunch with a longtime colleague in the mortgage business, he learned of a remarkable property newly listed on the highest slopes of Parrett Mountain.  Owned by an absentee German family for over 50 years, the south-east facing wheat field, a mere 30 minutes from downtown Portland, had the perfect potential for his vineyard.

Sensing that his dream might finally become reality, Mark drove directly to the site, stepped out of the car in his suit and tie, and sank his wingtips into the cool, volcanic Jory soil.  Within the hour, he had contacted his friend Buddy Beck, one of Oregon’s foremost vineyard specialists, to determine whether the property was indeed all he hoped. Buddy enthusiastically approved, the vineyard was planted and Mark never looked back.

Over the years, family and friends often join Mark in the vineyard to tend the vines, always celebrating with the fruits of their labor…
