Perfectly situated with a southwest exposure, Chance Creek Vineyards are rooted in the rocky bench lands of Redwood Valley. Our grapes are grown in accordance with the California Organic Food Act of 1990 and are C.C.O.F. certified.

The wines resulting from our family labors are intense, varietal and a pure statement of terroir, the unique flavor imparted to the grape by our particular vineyards.

Our specialty at Chance Creek Vineyards is our Sauvignon Blanc, and we have been at it for 30 years now, after planting 14 acres of Redwood Valley, Mendocino County bench land to the varietal in 1981. It grew like mad and we have vines tall enough for our flock of sheep to graze under so that they can keep the cover crop from being 4 feet tall.

The farming we practice gives us juicy forward fruit that at times mimics Sancerre with its white stone fruit and citrus nuances.  We add a touch of our own Viognier to fatten the wine in its otherwise very lean youth and to give an additional punch to the bouquet.   It has its in your face vibrancy that is uniquely Northern Californian.    This wine produces ample fresh pink grapefruit and zesty brisk nectarine flavor that pairs nicely with fresh Dungeness crab (get a live one) and almost every form of sea food you can imagine.
