C.G. Di Arie 2005 Zinfandel "Southern Exposure" 750ml
The "Southern Exposure" designation for C.G.Di Arie wines denotes that they feel the wine has very special qualities. This is a complex and elegant wine displaying rich fruity aromas of dark berries combined with spicy notes and hints of black and white pepper. On the palate the dark berry flavors quickly crescendo to layers of black cherry, plum and cassis. The long finish has spicy notes with hints of cardamom which makes this wine very exotic. The 2005 “Southern Exposure” Zinfandel has the elegance and complexity found in wines of great pedigree.
C.G. Di Arie 2006 Zinfandel "Southern Exposure" 750ml
Deep violet in color this wine has an elegant nose that begins with blackberry, plum, and dark cherries. Under this dark fruit are opulent layers of vanilla, cedar, anise, spice, and dried flowers. Layers of cracked black pepper, cloves, and briar accompany the rounded tannins. The wine finishes with velvety smoothness and sweet cherries.
C.G. Di Arie 2007 Zinfandel "Southern Exposure" 750ml
Most of the Zinfandel grapes used for making this wine comes from the original Grandpere vineyard which was planted over 140 ago. It is a miracle that this vineyard survived for so many years to become the oldest vineyard in California. The elegant nose of blackberries, plum, and dark cherries carries all the way to the palate adding layers of cocoa, spice and vanilla. This wine has a long and smooth finish with nuances of black pepper. A great wine to drink now, which will taste even better 6 years from now.
