The 1999 Grand Reserve enters the glass with a deep ruby hue and is characterized by aromas of classic Coombsville complexity -- dark ripe fruits intertwined with semi-sweet chocolate and fresh pepper. The palate is layered with Bordeaux-like note of cassis, spicy herb, sage and currants. Its depth and richness are pure California - highlighted by ripe black cherries.
