To bake artisan bread, the Cook's edition is probably the way to go. The idea behind it is that most everyone already has measuring cups, a mixing bowl, etc., so they don't need all those kitchenware’s. What do they need? They need an inexpensive way to learn and enjoy the process, which the COOK'S edition provides via ingredients, the cookbook, and a couple of baker's tools that most people don't have.
Basic instructions (detailed instructions are in the cookbook):
- Mix the ingredients (takes five minutes)
- Ignore the dough for 18-24 hours
- Shape the dough (takes one minute)
- Bake the bread (for one hour)
- Cheat sheet
- Baker's blade
- Dough scraper
- Enough ingredients for three loaves:
- Bread Dust
- Three sea salts:
- White (dough)
- Red (finishing)
- Black (finishing)
Allergen Warning: Contains Wheat and Corn Products
This technique requires some kind of covered pot. So many advantages: inexpensive, lightweight, doesn't require preheating, works perfectly, cools off quickly.
