“In the entire world there are only a few sounds that bring joy to all but the most jaded. One is the murmur of a kitten purring. Another is the thwack of a well-pitched baseball hitting a perfectly swung bat. And the third is the pop of a cork being pulled from a bottle of wine.” —George Taber

Pretty sure I'm in because Just Say No To Cougar Juice and kudos to them for shooting for Chablis. And the labels are outstanding.
But, FYI, the photos of the bottles are from the 2013 vintage.

You are totally right! I've alerted the Wine team and we should have the images updated by morning.

Update: We've added a caption. It's 2014.

A Woot! Flying Monkey dropped off a sample bottle, complete with WW Golden Ticket!

2014 Hedges HIP Chardonnay

I like both types of Chardonnay, Unoaked and Oaked (whether light oak or chewing on furniture style), so looked forward to tasting this wine.

Tasted this tonight, then used my new Vineyard Fresh Wine Preserver (off WW of course!) to save it for tomorrow night.

Chilled it down to appropriate temp for Chardonnay, around 50°. First glass out of bottle was good and 2nd glass about 60 minutes later was excellent.

No cork, bottle has screwtop.

Color: Nice golden straw color. 4 out of 5

Nose: Hint as they said of Apple Pie and custard . 13 out of 15

Taste: Fruit was still very evident, with a nice balance of acidity. Medium body with creaminess. Not oaky. 18,5 out of 20

Finish: Nice long finish. 8 out of 10

Overall rating is 87 out of 100

Overall Thoughts: Agree this is more of a drink now wine, but this could age till 2019. I liked this wine, but love the Iron Horse Chardonnay.

Nice price at $11.25 a bottle, so a good price for an everyday drinker.

Someone has to put WD's kids thru college, but why does it have to be me!

A taster again! Received the bottle (finally, not Woot's fault) yesterday and had it with a short rib stew. Actually paired well with the food. It's a pale straw color with an interesting nose, hints of oak, but kind of a bland taste, not objectionable, not too oaky, just doesn't have any flavors that stand out, other than a slight citrusy feel. But very drinkable. Just not memorable.

Interesting to see this winery here. I've seen various bottles at discounters recently although I don't recall having seen this one, but they have all been $10 and under. What's the story here? No winery participation so is this coming through the close out market?

Apologies to E. F. Hutton, but "when WD talks, I listen."
