How Will I Understand It If I Never Drank The First One?
Audiences are fickle. Nobody knows what they will want a little while from now – but everybody knows what they wanted a little while ago. So let’s just do that again. Say what you will, but that kind of thinking has paid for a lot of walk-in humidors and marble countertops in Southern California.
In that spirit, we present Monkey Second Prize, the full-flavored Cabernet that ties up all those loose plot threads from Woot Cellars’ 2006 blockbuster Monkey Prize. The nose is rich and ripe, but don’t worry, not with the richness and ripeness you’d associate with monkeys. Will those raspberry and cherry aromas finally find love? Can plum, toasted oak, and warm clove spice survive this high-stakes game of flavor – deadly flavor? What new vision will Pedroncelli Winery bring to this iconic franchise?
We’re sure Monkey Second Prize will be the kind of sequel that deepens and intensifies the mythos of the original, like The Godfather, Part II or Iron Man 2, not the kind that grosses everybody out like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, or the kind that makes a mockery of the original, like Superman IV or Porky’s II: The Next Day. But most importantly, we’re pretty sure people will buy it. In fact, we’re already casting Monkey Third Prize – anybody know how to get ahold of that guy who played Nuclear Man?
