2011 Windsor Oaks Estate Reserve Chardonnay, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County 750ml 6-Pack
At Windsor Oak’s 710 acre estate in the Russian River Valley, they sustainably grow and hand-harvest ultra-premium grapes for over 25 boutique wineries. Each harvest, they make just a few barrels from their top sites. For years, foggy, cobblestone hillside Block 8 has been a crown jewel for their hand-crafted artisan winemaking.
To showcase the power of the late, cool 2011 harvest, this Reserve Chardonnay was aged 7 months and stirred sur-lie, with multiple yeasts at low temperatures and partial malolactic fermentation. The winemaker's style of layering each barrel's style, plus the natural grape acids highly concentrate the wine's bright, lush flavors of fragrant Meyer lemon, ripe citrus, stone-fruits and touches of vanilla and honey with a long, clean and textured finish.
An excellent balance between French oak influences and bright acidity, this chardonnay boasts wonderful minerality combined with aromatic honeysuckle stone fruit flavors including white peach and notes of sweet vanilla round out the flavor of this wine and carry into a lasting finish.
In The Vineyard: We grow primarily Clone 17, or the Robert Young Clone, in our vineyard. Selected mainly from the lower, cooler blocks closest to the Russian River, the fruit benefited from the ideal conditions in 2011, with cool, foggy mornings and evenings and warm mid day temperatures.
In The Cellar: Partially barrel fermented and aged for 7 months in French oak, sur-lie, this wine underwent 100% malolactic fermentation to frame its lush and fragrant character with a long lasting, silky finish.
Pairing Notes: Perfect with foods like roasted pork, cream sauces, creamy soups, crab, shrimp, lobster and admired on its own.

We handcraft small quantities of our own wines under the Windsor Oaks label, produced from hand-selected vineyards and blocks on our estate.
