♪ White Oak you stay ♪
Officer, I can explain everything.
You see, sea glass is becoming harder to find these days since companies are making more and more products out of plastic. Well, I just happened to have three bottles of White Oak Alexander Reserve Proprietary Red at home, and I was feeling a little bit greedy hoarding all that glass, so I thought, “Hey! Why don’t I break a few bottles down and introduce some new shards into the ecosystem?” And now here I am, just helping out the collectors and the artisans! On a private beach! At 1am!
Of course, I needed to DRINK the wine before smashing the bottles, officer. Don’t be ridiculous! I just had to relish the aromas of bright cherry, cassis and ripe plum. I HAD to take in the dusty tannins and simple acidity. Clearly.
I mean, what else would you have me do? Just pour all that wine out on the sand? Officer, that’s called littering, and last time I checked littering is illegal!
Features
2007 Alexander Reserve Proprietary Red, Alexander Valley 750ml
Bright cherry, cassis and ripe plum marry together in the aromas of this wine. Firm and structured in the mouth, the flavors of cassis and black cherry combine with fine, dusty tannins. Supported by ample acidity, these flavors lead to a finish of black fruit and integrated oak
Technique: De-stemmed and gently into stainless steel fermentation tanks. Inoculated with Pasteur Red yeast, fermentation completed in 12 days. Pumped over twice daily. Held on the skins for an additional 10 days to complete malolactic fermentation and soften tannins. Gently pressed in bladder press, racked off gross lees and moved to barrels where the wine was racked quarterly to allow for natural clarification. The final blend was assembled from hand selected individual barrels and bottled in May, 2009. Barrel aged in 80% new barrels for 22 months (100% French).
