Oh Harriet, please try not to be so upset. Regardless of the mix-up with the napkins, it was still a lovely funeral.

I know today has been hard, Harriet, but you can’t let the little things weigh you down. Just try to focus on the good that happened today. Sam looked great, didn’t he? I think it was really sweet how you didn’t have them put him in one of those suits he always hated. No, honey, I thought putting his favorite ball cap on his head was a wonderful gesture. Everyone else said so, too. And speaking of which, wasn’t it just heartwarming to see so many people come by to pay their respects. Lovely, I thought. The whole thing was just lovely. The funeral home just ran out of regular black napkins, that’s all.

No, you can’t go holding it against them. You need to let it go. Things happen. Sometimes others make mistakes that you have to deal with, but you just deal with them and move on. Besides, I heard several people remark on how whimsically creative those Vino’s Party Napkins were. It was probably good for everyone to have a little chuckle due to the witty sayings printed on each one. I mean, honestly, they’re only napkins, after all. Getting all upset over some silly 3-ply, 5” x 5” square paper napkins that come in a 50-count gift box isn’t going to do anyone any good, least of all you.

Of course I’m right, Harriet. Now you just put that Vino’s Party Napkins 4 Variety Pack out of your mind for now. If anything, those randomly selected pack of witty little sayings brought a smile to a few faces on a sad day, and I, for one, think that’s a great thing, I really do.
