Vino Valpredo Wine Co. was created by Natalia Valpredo Fritz and her husband Clay Fritz. The partnership explores the range of varietals and flavors found in Sonoma County.
2012 Vino Valpredo Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County 750ml 2-Pack
This elegant fruit driven Pinot Noir is sourced from prized vineyards within the quintessential Russian River Valley. It is alive with vibrant plum and black cherry flavors, with a hint of spice. This well crafted wine is a fixture at our family table and we are sure it will become one at yours.
The cool climate of the Sonoma Coast appellation influences the grapes harvested for the Vino Valpredo Pinot Noir by producing bright aromas of Bing Cherry and Boysenberry, as well as hints of bay leaf tones and subtle nuances of violet and rose. This deeply hued wine has a satiny mouthfeel and a beautiful balance between bright acidity and elegant tannins. Notes of Pomegranate give way to bright flavors of Bing Cherry, followed by a savory edge and slight spiciness. Look for a soft, lingering earthy finish with hints of plum.
Production Notes: The fruit was de-stemmed only so that whole berries were transferred to open top fermenters, to help capture bright fruit aromas and flavors. After 4-8 days of a cold soak the tanks were warmed which allowed the juice to ferment naturally. The tanks were punched down 2-3 times per day for 10 days allowing skin contact for color and flavor extraction. The wine was the drained off the skins and placed in 30% New French barrels.

This Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in 30% new French oak for 18 months and blended with a splash of Malbec. The wine opens up with classic Cabernet aromas of currants, black cherries and tobacco, with a hint of cola. The palate delivers flavors of blackberry, cassis and spices.

Our elegant Merlot is sourced from some of Sonoma County’s most prized vineyards. The wine offers elegant aromas of red currant, plum, dried cranberries and a hint of cinnamon. The palate has hints of plum, red cherries, and has a rhubarb pie finish. This is the perfect wine to have with any meal.

Fritz Underground Winery is unlike any place you've ever visited. A Natural Wonder
Built into the side of a picturesque hill atop the northernmost region of the famed Dry Creek Valley, the Fritz Winery operates with a modern sensibility for efficiency and awareness by utilizing the unique attributes of its subterranean design. Naturally cool temperatures, ideal for wine making and cellaring, are maintained without any use of expensive or carbon-heavy devices common to most modern wine production. What's more, as a three-tiered structure, we're able to further cut down on energy usage by capitalizing on the always plentiful presence of gravity. By harnessing gravity to move our juice from the crush pad down to the tanks and barrels, we're not only saving energy by forgoing pumps, we're also saving our precious juice from the detrimental effects of excessive pulsation and buffeting. It's in this way that the delicate nuances present in our Pinot Noir and other prized Estate fruit is maintained and the nurtured by our winemaker Brad Longton.
