Dare to Drink

That was our attempt at a clever play on words. Instead of "Dare to Dream" we went with "Dare to Drink." But it just sounds like we're pressuring you to imbibe. Which we would never do, obviously. That would be irresponsible. We might be pressuring you to buy, however, and we're cool with that. All's fair in Woot-Offs and war, we always say. Or for the first time. And last. Sorry.

Features

2011 Ty Caton Carlton Brooke Petit Verdot, Sonoma Valley, Sandy Brooke Vineyards 750ml 2-Pack

This third vintage from this vineyard has yielded a wine that expresses fruit flavors of cherry liqueur with hints of lavender and crème de mint. Sweet overtones of caramel dominate the oak impression followed by silky and seductive tannins.

Each year I make unique wines to honor my parents, Carlton Brooke and Sandy Caton. The special label on this wine is my way of saying thank you for all they have done in my life to help me become the person I am. My promise to them is to pursue our shared goal of actively seeking excellence.

Ty Caton Vineyards

Owner:
Ty Caton
Founded:
1997
Location:
Sonoma, CA
We achieve wines of authenticity by working with nature to showcase the true flavors of the grapes. Ty Caton personally manages the entire winemaking process, from planting the vines, to farming the grapes, to making the wine here in Sonoma Valley. By using exclusively estate grown grapes he is able to have complete control over the process and personally tend to the wine from soil to glass. His acute awareness of the land enables him to make wines that show the great potential of the vineyard site.

Ty Caton’s philosophy is that wine is a natural product and should be treated as such. His winemaking uses limited intervention, which allows the wines to speak for themselves and import the true expression of the vineyard. He ferments with wild yeast that naturally occurs in the grapes so that the wines are manipulated as little as possible. As a Sonoma Valley winemaker and grape grower he strives to produce the ‘wow factor’ by creating wines that are bold, highly extracted and beautifully structured. Ty Caton believes that blending is an art form and uses master blending techniques to combine different grape varieties and clones to create wines with many layers of complexity in aroma and flavor. By allowing the grapes to show their true character and enhancing it through blending, Ty Caton is forging a new definition of quality in Sonoma Valley winemaking.

What are Top Comments?

Top Comments are discussion forum posts we have deemed worthy of your time. Listen, we get a lot of comments, and most of the time, it's pretty forgettable stuff; but sometimes you rise to the top like butterfat in milk. We don't recommend you base your self-worth on how often we feature your comments, but we don't expressly forbid it either.
