Twisting Food and Drink
Halloween is around the corner, bringing back memories of hay rides, candy, and the classic autumn treat: caramel apples.
But you must resist! You've been riding that diet high, and you've been on a roll. You want to have a taste of your favorite treat, but just a taste. It just looks and smells so good. What will you do!?
Solution: 2011 Twisted Vine Russian River Chardonnay
With its flavors of green apple and caramel (among vanilla and passion fruit), you can experience the joys of the treat you miss so much ... in drink form! In fact, you might even get to a point where you experience the realization that as a kid you could only have a caramel apple, and NOW you can have a caramel apple in the form of wine, and then suddenly you realize that maybe it was the kid version of you that was missing out.
Ah, the wisdom you gain over the years ...
Features
The 2011 Twisted Vine Chardonnay has flavors of green apple, caramel, vanilla and passion fruit followed by a citrus finish with balanced acidity.
From Inspiration's own vineyard in the Russian River Valley, this wine was made from two separate lots, one that had no oak contact at all and the other, about 60%, was aged in a combination of neutral French and European oak barrels.
Warm days and cool nights naturally develop good acid, making this an ideal food wine. During fermentation, this was split into two separate lots, each using its own yeast in order to create a variety of flavor aromatics to work with at blending.
