Warning: Does Not Recline

When we first heard the name “Deux Verres”, we thought we were getting a fancy sofa.

And that was exciting to us, because we’ve never tasted a sofa before! But when this two pack of Torii Mor “Deux Verres” Reserve Pinot Noir arrived instead, we poured ourselves a glass. And we knew right away that the only thing “couched in” here is a delicious flavor.

This 2006 vintage came from hand-picked, beautifully ripe fruit, and has has been aged for thirteen months in exceptional barrels. This has resulted in a mix of fruit and chocolate that makes what we’d call a delicious Pinot.

The forward aroma displays red and dark cherries, raspberry jam, and chocolate. The mouthfeel is rich and long, displaying the same dark cherries alongside blackberries and chocolate. The “Deux Verres” is a great way to tell your palate “Hey, pal, take a load off.” And you’ll have that extra bottle to enjoy later as well!

Nine different vineyards have contributed to creating the Torii Mor “Deux Verres” Reserve. From La Colina, Bella Vida and Olson Estate in the Dundee Hills to Anden Vineyard, Temperance Hill and Vanjon in Eola-Amity, to Battle Creek in the Willamette Valley and Hawks View in the Chehalem Mountains and even Hyland Vineyard in McMinnville, the results of a dry, warm summer with vigorous vines can be felt in each and ever sip.

When you’re ready to cushion yourself in flavors, you’ll want this two pack of Torii Mor “Deux Verres” Reserve Pinot Noir at your side. Not too challenging, not too ordinary, we expect you’ll find it to be just right.

Torii Mor Winery

Founded:
1993
Owners:
Donald & Margie Olson
Location:
Dundee, OR

Torii Mor Winery was founded in 1993 by Donald Olson, MD, who remains the owner to this day with his wife, Margie. The winery was initially a small project that was intended to showcase the fruit from his vineyard. Olson Estate Vineyard, formerly McDaniel Vineyard, is located in the Dundee Hills AVA. The now organically farmed vineyard was planted in 1972 and is one of the oldest vineyards in Yamhill County.

Since its modest beginnings in 1993 with just over 1,000 cases, Torii Mor has blossomed into a small, super-premium winery that focuses on small lots of handcrafted, vineyard-designated Pinot Noir.
