N/A Stein Family "Magic Hour" Family "Magic Hour" Moscato 750ml 6-Pack

This one was based on a dare, and your eyes do not deceive you—this is a red ''white'' Moscato!  A good friend derided Moscato, saying it was "quaffable" but not ready for primetime, daring the winemaker to work his "magic" on the style.  Always up to a challenge--more than half of why he makes wine, after all--this puzzle was solved in a legal if slightly unusual way via this "rosato" of Moscato and Cabernet Franc.

Wines made in lighter styles require winemaking finesse and restraint, and as the Stein Family's goal is always a wine which will work with rather than against food, that meant taking this one in a slightly different direction than others' Moscatos.  Naturally lighter through lower alcohol, a certain complexity of flavors is also needed to work well with food.  The Cab Franc adds a plushness to the wine while also bringing out a lovely watermelon note perfect for summertime, evening appetizers year-round, and effortless end-of-meal conclusions.  Chilling adds to the crispness, letting the consumer decide her preferred way to pair.  The winery called it "magic hour" both in honor of their son's painting on the label as well as for that special time of the late afternoon which is perfect for memories.
