The St. Supéry Estate Napa Valley Moscato contains flavors of kiwi. The fruit, not the bird.

Imagine, for a moment, you were looking into a goblet filled with vibrant hues of pale yellow and green. You smell the tropical aromas and you can only imagine how delicious the flavors will be. You lift the goblet to your lips, look down at the wine-

-and suddenly, you see the dark, cruel eyes of a kiwi bird, about to stab you with its beak. This is what WON'T happen when drinking a St. Supéry Estate Napa Valley Moscato.

Because, you see, the St. Supéry Estate Napa Valley Moscato is full of flavors like mango, honeydew, stone fruit and orange rind. It contains a nose of peach and lime zest. And yes, it's full of kiwi. But kiwi the FRUIT, not kiwi the BIRD.

Now, we're not saying kiwi the bird lacks style and grace. Everyone we've talked to tells us that kiwi the bird is charming, and enjoyable, and the sort of bird you'd want to come and hang out at your party. But to drink? That's when you want the flavors of kiwi the FRUIT. And that's what the St. Supéry Estate Napa Valley Moscato offers you, with a few other additional flavors we've already mentioned above and that we're not going to repeat here because you should have been paying attention.

Drink the fruit, adore the bird. That's the St. Supéry Estate Napa Valley Moscato way.

The year started with very cold conditions and high rainfall. Winter was said to have the fourth highest rainfall in 40 years. Spring moved temperatures up into the 70s, with late May bringing more rain. June began with significant rainfall during flowering, reducing crop yield. The summer provided good sunshine, although it was cooler than summer’s past. Late August and September were warm and encouraged good ripening. Overall 2011 was a cool season that provided intense, rich Moscato.

After achieving the desired flavors on the vine, the Muscat Canelli was harvested in the cool morning hours in an effort to preserve the delicate flavors. The fruit was received in the cellar, where the grapes were pressed to tank and immediately chilled and settled prior to fermentation. All fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to maintain and enhance the natural flavors.  The final blend was completed soon thereafter to capture the lovely bright qualities and intensity of flavor of this varietal.

St. Supéry Vineyards & Winery

Founded:
1982
Owner:
The Skalli Family
Location:
Rutherford, Napa Valley, CA
Two vineyards - one in Rutherford at the heart of Napa Valley's Cabernet Sauvignon country, the other, Dollarhide, in a serene corner of Napa Valley - are the source of St. Supéry wines, most notably, celebrated Cabernet Sauvignons and Sauvignon Blanc.

St. Supéry Vineyards & Winery is owned by the Skalli family of France. Robert Skalli's family has made wine for several generations in South of France. While traveling in Napa Valley during the 1970s, Robert was inspired to create an estate winery in Napa Valley to make wines of distinct and respectable character. Dollarhide, an historic cattle and horse ranch nestled among the hills of Napa Valley, was planted with the noble grape varieties of Bordeaux, France in the early 1980s. St. Supéry's Rutherford property became the home of the winery and first class Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards.

Today St. Supéry wines are enjoyed by people around the world in fine restaurants and during celebrations at home. The winery is a respected member of the Napa Valley vintner community and is a responsible steward of the 1500+ acres we own in this appellation known to be among the finest wine regions in the world.
