Patron Of The Grape

If you made this wine, you'd be a ninny not to brag about it! Right? Right?

The little known St. Julian Braganini was born in 1641, in the middle of a vineyard. People know this because he bragged about it. Constantly. Like, the guy just WOULD not shut up about it. You'd expect a saint to be more humble, right?

It was here that St. Julian Braganini first learned the craft of winemaking. For the first decade of his life, St. Julian Braganini actually thought he WAS a grape! Imagine his surprise to learn otherwise! And yet, he never forgot his friends on the vine, and devoted his life to helping them become the wine they were always meant to be.

And the range! A Meritage, a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Cabernet Franc, a Chancellor Noir, this four-pack of reds covered every grape's dream! No matter if it wanted to be in a mix of cherry aromas with a light, peppery flavor or in a nose of chocolate covered espresso bean with a silky tannin finish, that grape would be satisfied.

Yes, you guessed it. It was not the hand of Man that made St. Julian Braganini into a saint. The hand of Man pretty much wished he'd just hand them some wine and buzz off. But, to the grapes of the world? St. Julian Braganini was a transformative power. St. Julian Braganini was the hero of the grapes.

And certainly moreso than Lord Raisincookie. What a jerk THAT guy was, right?

Features

2008 Braganini Reserve Meritage 750ml

Remarkably fresh aromas of cherry and red plum intertwine with oak that supports this sleek and precise wine.  An herbal note-like tobacco leaves in a cedar chest and mouthwatering acidity to accent the fruit.  Scents of green pepper and spice are given a modest lift by an olive-green herb component.  On the palate, the wine is light, lean and peppery, with a dollop of red cherry fruit that carries through to the finish.

2010 Braganini Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

Capturing currant and blackberry fruit at the zenith of ripeness, this is smooth, plush and layered, with a mix of mocha, black cherry, cedar and cassis all flowing together in a steady stream. Firms up nicely on the finish, yet the flavors keep rushing through. Amazingly complex, with great structure, depth, richness and concentration.  Food Pairing: Aged Cheese, Blue-veined cheese, Duck, Goose, Goat Cheese, Grilled Beef Steak, Pasta with Tomato Base, Stew or Casserole.

2010 Braganini Reserve Cabernet Franc 750ml

This Braganini Reserve shows what the variety is able to do in Michigan’s cold climate. Aromas of Bing cherries and raspberries interlace with allspice, followed by flavors of cranberries and vanilla. The structure on the palate is rich and intense, yet has a velvety tannic finish that will dance on your palate. Quite impressive! A lighter wine than Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon, this Cabernet franc will please with its intricate complexity. Savor a taste of southwest Michigan summer. Food Pairing: Duck, Goose, Game Birds, Roast Beef, Soft Cheese.

2009 Braganini Reserve Chancellor Noir 750ml

The 2009 Braganini Reserve Chancellor is yet again, a true masterpiece. Chocolate covered espresso bean and sweet cherry vanilla aromas lead to a velvety, medium-body entry of super ripe currant, black raspberry, and Bing cherry flavors. Finishes with silky tannins and a hint of smoky clay. Deliciously inviting on its own or with any divine feast. Food Pairing: Duck, Goose, Game Birds, Game Meat, Grilled Beef Steak, Ham, Stew or Casserole.
