Companion

Scott Harvey is the best friend you never knew you had.

That's right. Scott Harvey Amador County Syrah is my best friend and is most certainly real. Each time I open a new bottle of it, I rediscover its creamy texture and big red-berry and cherry fruit.

I guess to an extent I can understand the disbelief. I've never actually introduced them, but that's just because I want it all to myself. Not because it doesn't exist. Having aromas of blackberry, cedar, blueberry, and sweet light oak may sound unbelievable and may be invisible, but hey - YOU taste a quick sip of it and tell me this wine's "imaginary."

So while you all go out on the town and hobnob, don't mind me. No, I'm not spending the night alone. I'm spending it with the best friend anyone could ask for: Scott Harvey Syrah.

Features

2011 Scott Harvey Syrah Mountain Selection, Amador County 750ml 5-Pack

Varietal mouth filling creamy texture with big red berry cherry fruit. Aromas of blackberry, cedar, blueberry and sweet light oak introduce fresh, bright, spicy flavors of the same laced with firm tannins that carry through the long finish.

Vineyard/Vintage Notes: 86% grown in the mountainous Syrah Vineyards of Amador County. These vineyards make up a good representation of Amador County’s ability to produce world class Syrah. They vary from steep rocky volcanic slopes to rolling Sierra mountain terrain. This mountain terroir produces low yields of first growth quality fruit. Harvest was late September in 2011 with a smaller than average crop. Grapes came in with small bunches and berry size allowing for a more extracted vintage.
