Features
2008 Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Syrah, 3L
This wine exhibits a mouth filling creamy texture and big cherry fruit. Aromas of blackberry, cedar, blueberry and sweet light oak introduce fresh, bright, spicy flavors, laced with firm tannins that carry through the long finish.
Vineyard/Vintage Notes: 100% grown in mountainous Syrah Vineyards of Amador County. These vineyards make up a good representation of Amador County’s ability to produce world class Syrah. They vary from steep, rocky volcanic slopes to rolling Sierra mountain terrain. This mountain terroir produces low yields of first growth quality fruit. Harvest was in late September of 2008 with a smaller than average crop. Grapes came in with small bunches and berry size, allowing for a more extracted vintage.
Vineyard Sources: 39% grown in the mountainous York Syrah Vineyard of Fiddletown, Amador County. This vineyard is made up of steep, rocky volcanic soil with a southwest facing slope. 61% from the Ryan Vineyard located in the center of Shenandoah Valley on decomposed granite soils.
